What is adhesive powder point?
Adhesive powder point is the process of applying adhesive powder / granules to the surface of a material. The adhesive is melted and forms a bond with the material being coated whilst remaining on the surface, it is cooled in process so it can be rolled without sticking to itself. The thermo reactive properties of the adhesive allow the coated surface to bond to a face material when fused using a fusing press or other suitable equipment. The powder point nature of the adhesive application provides precision application of adhesive. Gaps between the adhesive points allow materials to retain their stretch characteristics when handle and stretch are particularly sensitive in the finished bonded item. Using various adhesive polymers a wide range of technical performance capabilities can be achieved including fusing temperature, wash performance and handle.

This coating technique is commonly used in the production of various textile products, including apparel, upholstery, and technical textiles but can also be used with non wovens and paper. Available in a coating width up to 180cm with tailored characteristics to your end requirements.
