What is Knife Coating?
Knife coating is the application of a treatment to the surface or structure of a material via one face per pass. The type of treatment is determined by the chemicals used and whether this is applied as a paste or a foam. The knife position determines the amount of treatment applied and how far this absorbs into the body of the material being coated. Material can be coated on one or both faces and unique finishes can be obtained by accumulated coating passes. Further process such as texturizing or embossing the surface are possible.
The precise finishing of your fabric
Our choice of coating method depends on the specific application requirements, performance of the fabric and type of material. We offer the following coating methods which are applied onto the fabrics surface using a range of techniques such as spraying, brushing or roller coating.
- Back coat flame retardant so the face of the fabric remains pristine

- Provide stain and water resistance for tablecloths

Coating can be applied to both cellulous fabrics, synthetics as well as non wovens with a coating width of up to 220cm.

This information is recorded on our coating machines in built computer to ensure precise replication time after time resulting in a high quality finish and consistent performance characteristics.
